About SASCO

Founded in 1965, San Antonio Steel Company offers more than 700
steel items including nails, rebar and a large selection of fencing
products. We operate from our 80,000 square-foot facility on 20
acres in San Antonio. We service primarily rural lumberyards that
supply farmers, ranchers and construction companies across Texas.

“Our commitment to rural business in today’s marketplace is
extraordinary,” says CEO L.C. “Chaz” Neely, Jr., who bought the
company in 1979. “To help our independent retailers thrive in the
world of big box wholesalers, we work harder to maintain a
presence.” Neely believes that’s achieved with top-notch service
and SASCO’s diligence on keeping prices competitive.

Setting our own standards in service and value, SASCO remains
hands on with our customers. Our story affirms that the
entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well, and, even more so, that one
need not do what everyone else does to succeed. When it comes
to steel products for ranching and construction, SASCO is your
premier source.

to customer service, a common sense business philosophy and the
strong determination and consistent leadership of owner, Chaz
Neely, San Antonio Steel Company (SASCO) has become a Texas
size success story.  It's a true Texas tale that should motivate and
inspire anyone in any business, as well as serve as a life lesson in
the value of long hours, perseverance and commitment to customers
and employees.

Chaz Neely, purchased the company in December 1979 and for
the next 13 years the company struggled. For two those years,
Neely would even work a day job and run the company at night
to keep the doors open.  In addition, in order to inject capital into
the company he would sell his home on two different occasions
to keep the doors open.
